Our mission is to ensure that all students have the foundations for success and are challenged to reach their full potential
What is Accreditation?
Accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance developed more than 100 years ago by the American universities and secondary schools, and designed primarily to distinguish schools adhering to a set of educational standards. System accreditation nurtures and supports individual school improvement while aligning it with the overall School District improvement. The accreditation process incorporates a performance based model that has a five year cycle of continuous improvement.
Why Does Accreditation Matter?
Accreditation is designed to help educational institutions boost their ongoing performance efforts for the benefit of their students. Accreditation matters because students deserve the highest level of educational excellence possible.
What Does Accreditation Mean For Our Students?
Students gain greater access to federal loans, scholarships, military programs and colleges that require students to attend an accredited institution.
How Do We Accredit?
Teton County School District #1 will work with AdvancED to accredit the school system. The AdvancED Accreditation Process is comprehensive, evaluating all the parts of our institution. The process focuses on our vision and goals, evaluates teaching and learning, and examines how results are documented and resources are allocated. The five AdvancED Standards are the foundation of the Accreditation Process and serve as our guide to continuous improvement.
The system maintains and communicates at all levels of the organization a purpose and direction for continuous improvement that commit to high expectations for learning as well as shared values and beliefs about teaching and learning.
The system’s curriculum, instructional design and assessment practices guide and ensure teacher effectiveness and student learning across all grades and courses.
The system has resources and provides services in all schools that support its purpose and direction to ensure success for all students.
The system implements a comprehensive assessment system that generates a range of data about student learning and system effectiveness and uses the results to guide continuous improvement.
